kilometric model of the franceville basin
Coupled heat and mass transfers in the Oklo basin (without reactor) are investigated on the following geometry to study global fluid circulations and their possible influence on U ore deposit formation. Several hypothesis have been assumed, concerning the depth of burial, the permeability of Fa layer
An example of results:
Conclusion of the kilometric model
- According to assumed permeabilities of the Fa layer, fluid circulations can occur, implying exchange between basement and Fa layers
- These circulations could be invoked as a possible mechanism for the formation of the Uranium deposit
- Conductive transfers are predominant for permeability of the Fa layer less than 1E-13 m2
- The depth of burial has low influence on the fluid circulations
