Research interests and active projects

Stable isotope geochemistry - Geochemistry of surface processes

Climate and tectonic interaction. Mountain building interacts with climate via a variety of processes including atmospheric CO2 uptake by silicate weathering and organic carbon burial, changes in land/sea distribution which control the dynamic of the atmosphere and erosion which drives uplift in preferential areas. The study area is the Himalayan system. We use combined information of (1) the sedimentary record of erosion such as the Bengal Fan or the Siwaliks since Miocene and (2) the modern Himalayan river system

Himalayan erosion processes. Using a variety of mineralogical and geochemical tools, we characterize erosion processes active in the different parts of the range and we quantify the distribution of the erosion

Proxies of paleo-environemental conditions using stable isotope and micro-analyses techniques

Water budget in sedimentary formations. Study of the water distribution and origin and water-rock interaction in sedimentary formation in oceanic and continental formations

Teaching and supervision

Courses in Paleoclimate evolution, Climate-tectonic interaction, Water cycle geochemistry
